How it works
A different email address for different parts of your digital life.
Extended Email is being built around a simple idea: your primary email address should not have to become a permanent identifier shared with every company you use.
1. Keep a core inbox
Your core mailbox is the place where your email ultimately arrives. Instead of handing that address to every website, Extended Email is designed to let you create separate addresses for individual services and accounts.
2. Use an alias when you sign up
An email alias is another address that can route mail without requiring you to expose the same primary address everywhere. A shopping account, streaming service, newsletter, or other website can each have its own address.
3. See where an address was used
Separate addresses can make it easier to understand which account an incoming message is associated with. If an address starts receiving unwanted mail, you have more context than you would with one address used across hundreds of sites.
4. Disable an address when you need to
Extended Email is being designed so an individual alias can be disabled without forcing you to abandon your entire inbox. That gives you address-level control instead of treating your email address as something permanent once it has been shared.
Coming December 2026. Extended Email is currently in development. Features described here reflect the intended product direction and may evolve before launch.
